And, We’re (on the way) Back

Hello lovely theatre people.

‘And, We’re Back’ is a new writing night I am in the early stages of producing which is going to be held at the Bread and Roses Theatre in Clapham. Inspiration came from my worry that small venues receiving no funding will be hit incredibly hard by covid-19, so in an attempt to stave off my own career anxieties I decided that I could at least do something small to help a venue very close to my heart.

‘And, We’re Back’ is a celebration of the wonderful spirit of new writing and fringe theatre. It will feature short plays, extracts from new musicals in development and spoken word artists.

I am currently reading submissions and I’m so blown away by the amount of talented people making inspiring, unique and important work. This is why I fell in love with fringe theatre in the first place and why I know we’ll be okay.

Never before have I started working on a show without knowing the production dates so this is unknown territory for me, but I’m ready to see where it goes and above all thankful for the opportunity it has given me to connect with other creatives in this isolating time.

Keep an eye out for updates, and most importantly stay safe and well.
