Hi, I’m Gwenan (pronouns she/her). I’m a Welsh Director and Stage Manager currently based in London. I was the Bread and Roses Theatre’s Emerging Director for 2018 and am an associate artist with BolSHE, a creative collective for Welsh and Wales based women.

I trained originally in musical theatre and when I graduated I fell in love with the world of pub and fringe theatre. I work predominantly in new writing and am happiest in a rehearsal room developing a new production. I am also particularly interested in new musical theatre and am a co-AD for Stage Splinters, a company specialising in the development of new musicals.

My directing credits include Somewhere to Belong (a verbatim show about the bi+ community, Lion and Unicorn Theatre); Seaside (an audio play for KickItDown Productions, 5* London Pub Theatres); Maisie (Bread and Roses Theatre, 4* Broadway World); Existential Fish and Dread for the same venue (4.5* Within Her Words, 4* London Pub Theatres) and Other – Please Explain for the Park Theatre’s Script Accelerator program. My assistant directing credits include Romeo and Juliet (a filmed theatrical production for Metcalfe Gordon Productions, 4* The Guardian);  Love, Genius and a Walk (Theatro Technis); Macbeth – the Musical (The White Bear Theatre) and It Tastes Like Home (Bread and Roses Theatre).

My Stage Manager and Operator credits include Love, Genius and a Walk (Theatro Technis); Dissociated (Etcetera Theatre); Cuttings and Little Echoes (The Hope Theatre); Illusions of Liberty (Kings Head Theatre/Applecart Arts) and As We Unravel (The Bread and Roses).

I’m always looking to connect and collaborate, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch on gwenanhb@gmail.com.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
